Expression Engine Plugin: Simple Multibyte String

This is a simple useful plugin progrramed for Expression engine v 1.6.8 that makes use of PHP’s Multibyte String Function Library.

We generally use it to handle string case conversions within templates.

Currently, it supports 4 modification functions (mb_strtolower, mb_strtoupper, and multibyte modified versions of ucfirst and lcfirst referred respectively as mb_ucfirst and mb_lcfirst) and mb_strlen function.

You can download the plugin here.

Simply extract the pi.mb_string.php into your EE plugin folder.

There are two parameters accepted:

1- function
mb_strtolower, mb_strtoupper, mb_ucfirst, mb_lcfirst, mb_strlen

2- encoding
Accepts File encoding names such as utf-8. You can check PHP manual for more details.

# Make all characters lower case.

HELLO

Result: hello

# Make all characters upper case.

pfs! Has Been Launched

Biber's first site in a series have been launched. Although primarily being served in English pfs! is a "mixed language" site. Depending the nature and the target market of the content posted, pfs! currently supports both English and Turkish languages. In the future you can expect to see few more languages. pfs! in a nutshell is a photo-blog that promises to provide extensive information on each photo enabling visitors to get a better understanding on the subject matter how to take better photos. The site also provides photography related news and announcements from all over the world. In addition to that, at pfs! you will be able to watch some extraordinary online photo exhibition from a variet of photographers.

Site Sections:

1. Home Page:
This page showcases selected art from the blow and will be updated weekly. The photos shown here are linked to blog and all six will have something in common. It’s going to be like a magazine cover/issue.

2. Blog:
This section lets you crawl my portfolio. It doesn’t just show the photos. There are also my writings, technical details & more. These pages are connected with Browse section and enables you to browse all photos by styles, equipment, models etc.

3. News Section:
In this section I’ll be posting photography related news, updates, tutorials etc.

4. Browse Section:
This is the quick browsing section. There are still some stuff missing but we’ll enhance the page soon.

5. Exhibtion:
Think this page as a regular exhibition. It will be renewed every couple months and it may also host guest photographer portfolios.
